The spirits program here at Jaynes is on fire right now and if you haven't tried some of Erik and Jayne's specialties we urge you to come by. We are starting our second cocktail list here at Jaynes tonight, but don't worry, Erik will still make you a White Spider or Hemingway! We're cooking up a batch of fresh ginger syrup right now, so how about a Dark and Stormy tonight?

Don't forget that Wednesdays is Cocktail Night and all of the specialty list cocktails are just $6!

The new Adams Ave Farmers' Market was a hit. Cheers to everyone involved in making it happen.

FRIENDS OF NORMAL HEIGHTS CANYONS

Reminder - the FNHC tour of Eugene Canyon for River Days week is this Saturday, May 15, 9:30 - 11:30, meet at the end of Eugene Place. To see the full schedule of River Days events throughout the county, go to sandiegoriver.org
For those who can stay, we'll hold our regular meeting for about a half hour right after the tour.

Big thanks to all the volunteers who participated in the FNHC Creek to Bay Clean Up on April 24! We cleaned out 682 pounds of trash and recycling - most of that weight was in the form of bmx ramps. Since the short staffed Code Enforcement department couldn't get the (caught and confessed) individuals responsible for the illegal grading/bmx ramps in the canyon to correct their violations, we had to pick up the slack.
Aside from the ramps this year, our canyons continue to get cleaner every year. We need your help to keep the canyons clean - keep an eye out for polluters and volunteer when you can.

Attached is the current watering schedule for the native plant restoration sites in Eugene Canyon - spots are still open for the summer. You can see our new (easier) watering system during Saturday's tour.

Bike to Work Day/Week

Next week is Bike to Work Week, but the official bike to work day is Friday, May 21st.

You will also be able to pick up a free copy of the NEW San Diego Regional Bikeway map as well as freebies from sponsor booths. The iCommute team will be available to answer any questions about your bike commute and how pit stops can help you refuel during your BTWD commute.

Jaynes hosts Greek Wine Tasting, Sunday Mothers Day

Do you know your Moschofilero (MOHS-koh-FEE-leh-roh) from your Xinomavro (zee-NOH-mah-vroh)? There is no wine in the world that can transport you to the mysteries and beauty of Greece like her delicious wines. Come explore the lip-smacking, food-friendly flavors and aromas of Greek wines at Jaynes this Sunday, with 8 wines by the Boutari family of Greek wineries.

The Boutari estate group is the oldest winery in Greece and was the first to bottle, label, and ship the noble Xinomavro grape — the savory red grape of Greece — after Greece won its independence from the Ottoman empire in the nineteenth century. Today, its Moschofilero is the country's most popular white wine and its Naoussa, made from Xinomavro, regularly wins high praise from European and American wine critics alike.

Mamma mia! Treat mom to a voyage to Greece in a glass, this Mother's Day at Jaynes.

8 wines from 6 different Greek wineries.
