Sunday, December 13th15% of all the days sales plus all proceeds from raffle will go to help support The Storefront and Street Outreach programs at the SDYS.
SDYS will have people there for the day and evening answering questions and handing out information and will sell raffle tickets.
The Storefront -- Emergency Shelter for YouthA 20-bed emergency shelter and the only one in San Diego specifically designed for homeless, runaway and “street” youth. Its goals are to return young people to their families or to find alternative living arrangements and to prevent their sexual exploitation. Services begin with Street Outreach teams that find and offer resources to homeless young people. The Storefront Day Drop-In Center provides street kids with a safe place between the end of the school day and the opening of the night shelter.
Street OutreachMore than 2,500 youth are seen annually out on the streets by the Outreach Team. As part of The Storefront's mission, outreach workers search the streets of San Diego six nights every week in search of homeless children, providing them with survival information, warm clothing, something to eat, and an opportunity to get off the streets.
